I create fresh, exciting, and most importantly, functional: technology, design, and content. My projects increase market share, brand awareness and profitability for your business. I especially like working with non-profits. My work runs the gamut from complete web site design and redesign with the understanding that our finished project (every project is a collaboration between client, you, and developer, me) will render beautifully on all current browsers and devices. I can make you an iPhone or Android app that will be interesting, easy-to-use, and fun. I also provide technical writing services and content creation tailored to your specific needs. I can work really fast if you need something done like, yesterday (but I'll have to charge you more ^..^).

  • Vicky is a very hardworking colleague and also aims at achieving the maximum possible efficiency, at all the possible areas of work that she was handled in our school journey. She is a person who puts in, her whole and soul into the task that has been assigned. This is probably the reason that she is able to complete seemingly extraordinary targets and tasks. Timely completion with the maximum efficiency is her maxim of work. A knowledge thirsty person, she is always ready to learn and know more about things and is always up to achieving complete mastery over her work. These capabilities are also backed up by her excellent and meritorious achievements in academics and all the extra-curricular activities at our Graduate school.

I firmly believe that she would make an excellent information systems professional for any company and will deliver a performance exceeding expectations.

I've been working as a web designer and developer since 1999, which is about a year after I got my first computer. I got interested in how things work 'in there' upon first setting up my gently-used-but-new-to-me device, (so excited!) but I didn't know how to turn it on; I figured it must work like a TV because those big CRT monitors look like TVs, right? Pushing the monitor button only powered up the monitor, but not the computer. Then I tried to RTM (read the manual) but it was poorly written and not for beginners. My eyes began to glaze over. So,

I called customer service. Here's a hint--the company used to have 'cow spots' on the box (don't know if they still do or not, as I've never bought another one from them). I explained my dilemma to the nice lady and the gist of her advice, which I'm paraphrasing because it was long ago, was...

'They make books for people like you. They're called 'Books for Dummies'."

Okay. Game on, b@!#%. Shortly thereafter, I bought the 800-page doorstop better known as the manual for Windows 98, and I read it cover to cover. I found out how to power up a computer and I learned a few more things: one, that I wasn't a 'hardware' gal; mainly, that I could teach myself how to use this computer expertly if I devoted enough time to it; and most importantly, I resolved never to treat a potential client, co-worker, or anyone I was helping in a manner so condescending and just plain rude.

Fast forward through ZDNet online classes and lots of practice and tutorials, freelance jobs and regular jobs, gigs that went fantastic and a few gigs where I feel that I could have, and should have had a better outcome (with 20/20 hindsight, of course), and here we are.

So now I'm looking for a position with either a startup, which I have experience with and love the rush, or an established small to medium-sized company, and I'd like to continue to work in web design and development but I'm open to other areas: sales (I have a smooth phone voice), business analysis (I have an innate ability to see the big picture), or even something that's kind of a lateral jump into another pool: data science. I am also interested in teaching and developing educational materials. I have a lot of interests and I'm sure I'm an awesome fit for someone out there. So give me a ring or a ping and let's see what we can create together in this new year!
